This evening we met up with some friends and ate our traditional Minnesotan Christmas Eve Dinner. Then they lit all of the lights on the menorah (sp?) as it was the last night of Hanukah and shared with us the brief version of the story of Hannukah. Then we all went to the Solstice celebration at Brittania. We had lots of fun dancing with our kids and watching our kids dance. It was a really nice evening. I've always been a bit worried about having them over for any length of time as they have 3 very rambunctious boys (and yeah, I know my kids are rambunctious, but when you get SIX rambunctious kids in the same place...and that place is MAYBE 900 square feet (and that is when I'm being positive)...weeeeellll, it's kind of scary). But tonight was great. There was plenty of activity and room, but next year I'll make MORE food. I love sharing traditions and this is the first opportunity I've taken to share much of my traditions with my friends. I think some of this has been hindered by the fact that two of our good friends are vegan and swedish meatballs just ain't vegan!...and frankly, Minnesotan Christmas, for me, was all about the food. Sigh. Of course it was ;)

Now all of the children are asleep (not all in their preferred (or my preferred) sleeping places....but sleeping nonetheless).

I have little work to complete.

Christmas is enjoyable, relaxing and fun!

It is, I say.... :)

Happy Holidays.
